SI and FPCA Join Forces to Support Autism Care in Nepal

Kathmandu: Society International Travels (SI), a prominent General Sales Agent in Nepal, has entered into a partnership with Friends of Parents of Children with Autism (FPCA) to bolster autism care within the country. This collaboration was announced at a ceremony held in Kathmandu and is a pivotal component of SI’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

According to National News Agency Nepal, SI has pledged to provide regular financial assistance to FPCA throughout the year. The first installment of this aid was presented to FPCA President, Elina Bajracharya Tuladhar. During the event, Santosh Bikram Rana, Head of GSA Affairs at SI, underscored the need to tackle social stigma and ensure that children with autism have access to inclusive opportunities.

Tuladhar, who is also a parent of a child with autism, expressed that the support from SI will enable FPCA to extend crucial services to families experiencing financial and emotional challenges. FPCA, established in 2013, operates Nepal’s sole nonprofit day-care and learning center dedicated to children with autism. The center currently caters to 15 children, offering them individualized education plans, therapy sessions, and skill-development programs led by trained professionals and family members.

The partnership between SI and FPCA not only amplifies the impact of FPCA’s efforts but also demonstrates SI’s broader dedication to community welfare through initiatives centered on inclusive development, education, and healthcare, as stated by Tuladhar.
