Rupandehi: A boy drowned while swimming in a reservoir in Rupandehi on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Shyamu Gupta, 15, a resident of Omsatiya rural municipality-5, according to police. Information officer at District Police Office, Rupandehi, Suraj Karki, stated that the incident occurred in the reservoir at Gonhiya of Siddharthanagar municipality-9. Due to the delay in relaying the information on Thursday, immediate rescue efforts could not be initiated. The search operation began on Friday morning, and the boy was found dead in a stream near the reservoir later that day.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the lifeless body has been sent to Bhim Hospital of Bhairahawa for post mortem. Information officer Karki mentioned that further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
