Kathmandu: Police have arrested three foreign nationals with 4.3 kilogrammes of cocaine. A police team from Narcotics Control Bureau, Koteswor nabbed the foreign nationals, who arrived in Nepal via air route, from Kathmandu Metropolitan City-9, Sinamangal area. The arrestees were made public today.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Bureau’s Assistant Spokesperson, DSP Jeewan Niraula, stated that Rusani Kama, 40, of Thailand, Javier Mathew Thaliyacheri, 55, of India, and Mursalen Hussein were arrested and made public today. “The foreign nationals who were held in course of the investigation were found involved in drug (cocaine) peddling,” he added.
Spokesperson Niraula shared that police seized 550 grammes of cocaine from Kama, who arrived in Kathmandu via Thailand, and three kilograms 750 grammes from Indian national Javier, who came to Kathmandu from Laos via Singapore, and from another Indian, Mursalen, who came to Nepal to bring cocaine. He informed that police recovered 12 capsules of cocaine from the Thai national and a large amount hidden in a suitcase from the Indian citizen.
According to the Bureau, investigation into the three drug traffickers is underway as per the Narcotic Drugs Control Act, 2033 BS.
