Three Former Nepalese Prime Ministers Extend Tamu Lhosar Best Wishes


KATHMANDU: Three prominent political leaders and former Prime Ministers of Nepal-Sher Bahadur Deuba, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, and Madhav Kumar Nepal-delivered messages of goodwill to all Nepali citizens, both domestically and internationally, in honor of the Tamu Lhosar festival.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Sher Bahadur Deuba, who also serves as the President of the Nepali Congress (NC), emphasized the festival’s role in motivating individuals to preserve their religious and cultural heritage. Deuba highlighted the importance of mutual goodwill, tolerance, and social bonding as integral components of Nepali society.



In a separate message, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as Prachanda and the Chair of the CPN (Maoist Centre), underscored the state’s duty to protect and promote the nation’s diverse languages, cultures, attires, and customs. He further stressed the importance of implementing the constitution effectively and fostering national unity, good governance, social justice, and economic progress.



Madhav Kumar Nepal, who is the Chair of CPN (Unified Socialist), echoed similar sentiments in his message, stating that Nepal’s cultural diversity enhances the country’s international pride. He noted that the diverse traditions and cultures in Nepal have played a crucial role in promoting social harmony, tolerance, goodwill, and national unity. He also highlighted the need to promote Nepal’s cultural festivals to further these goals.
