Kathmandu: The top leaders of the major three political parties, Nepali Congress (NC), CPN (UML), and Nepali Communist Party, have assured their participation in the forthcoming House of Representatives (HoR) election. During a meeting with Prime Minister Sushila Karki held at her official residence in Baluwatar today, the top leaders pledged their parties’ commitment to the polls slated for March 21, 2026, the PM’s Secretariat said.
According to National News Agency Nepal, emerging from the meeting, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba stated, “All political parties are ready to take part in the poll. NC is also ready. UML is also ready. Other parties are also ready. The government should ensure security environment.”
UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Communist Party (NCP) Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ also expressed their commitment to the polls, the PM’s Secretariat stated. During the meeting, PM Karki urged the major political parties to make the poll a success, adding that the upcoming election is to be held in a unique context.
