UAE Defeats Nepal in ACC Men’s U19 Premier Cup


Ajman: Nepal was defeated by UAE in the final match of the ACC Men’s U-19 Premier Cup Cricket organized in the UAE. UAE clinched the championship title by defeating Nepal by 27 runs. Nepal, chasing a victory target of 148 runs set by UAE, was restricted to 120 runs in 33.2 overs.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Nepal’s Captain Ashok Dhami scored the highest with 34 runs, while teammates Ashish Luhar and Roshan Bishwokarma added 25 runs each. On the bowling front, UAE’s Yug Jai Sharma and Ali Asgar Shums each took three wickets, showcasing a strong performance.



Earlier in the day, UAE, after losing the toss and being invited to bat first at the Karwan Cricket Ground in Ajman, managed to score 147 runs in 45.5 overs before losing all their wickets. Ahmed Khudadad was the standout performer for UAE, scoring 71 runs. Nepal’s Dayanand Mandal took six wickets, while Aparajit Poudel claimed two, and Captain Ashok Dhami and Nites Kumar Patel captured a wicket each.



Meanwhile, both Nepal and UAE have secured qualification to play in the U-19 Asia Cup, scheduled for December in the UAE.
