Kathmandu: CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has reaffirmed his party’s dedication to steering the country in the right direction. During the opening session of the party’s 11th National Congress in Sallaghari, Bhaktapur, Chairman Oli remarked that despite facing numerous obstacles and criticisms, there has been a significant surge in public support for the UML.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Chairman Oli emphasized that the UML will persist in its mission to create a prosperous nation without resorting to political theatrics, and that all entities advocating for good governance and development stand behind the party. Oli stated, “Democracy is unassailable, and the CPN-UML is unbreakable,” highlighting the party’s commitment to democracy and the welfare of the people. He further noted that the UML must be established as a decisive national power, progressing towards a future promising prosperity and happiness for the entire nation.
He asserted that as the Communist Party strengthens, so will nationalism. “The UML has been at the forefront of social justice. For the citizens, this power is essential for their livelihood,” Oli said, underscoring the party’s role in promoting inclusivity across all areas of national politics. He outlined UML’s initiatives to develop socialism tailored to Nepali needs, emphasizing village-centered and participatory development alongside significant development projects.
Chairman Oli expressed confidence in the reinstatement of the dissolved parliament, reflecting on the impressive turnout at the general convention. He noted that although the state and its institutions have been compromised due to infiltration during the Gen-Z movement on September 8 and 9, he believes that democracy will be restored on the basis of peaceful and just governance. Furthermore, he criticized the current government for engaging in biased and unconstitutional practices instead of fostering an election-friendly environment.
