13 Nepali Books to Be Translated into Chinese Language

Kathmandu: Thirteen Nepali literature creations have been selected for translation into the Chinese language as well as for selling and distribution in China.

According to National News Agency Nepal, this initiative is part of a bilateral agreement signed between the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal and the National Administration of Press and Publication of China. The agreement was established to facilitate the translation and publication of classical texts from both countries during the visit of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ to China in 2080. Dr. Dhan Prasad Subedi, Member-Secretary of the Nepal Academy, confirmed the selection of the 13 Nepali literary works.

The selected Nepali books include ‘Laxmi Nibandha Sangraha’ by Laxmi Prasad Devkota, ‘Chapaiyeka Anuhar’ by Daulat Bikram Bista, ‘Himal Sherpa Ra Yeti’ by Bhishma Upreti, ‘Nepal Ko Samchhipta Britanta’ by Baburam Acharya, and ‘Maile Dekheko Nepal’ by Dr. Harka Gurung, among others. These works represent a diverse array of themes and narratives, showcasing the rich literary heritage of Nepal.

In a reciprocal cultural exchange, 13 Chinese books have also been selected for translation into the Nepali language. These include titles such as ‘Reading Guide for Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era’, ‘Seventy Years of New China’, and ‘The Origins of Chinese Civilization’. The aim of these exchanges is to foster greater cultural understanding and literary appreciation between Nepal and China.
