Mymensingh: Brothers Union Club edged past Fortis Football Club by a solitary goal in the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup football held at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh today. In the day’s match, midfielder Kawsar Ali Rabbi scored the all-important goal for Brothers in the 36th minute of the match.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, after the breather, Fortis FC tried their best to stage a fight back in the match, but they could not score in the remaining proceedings and eventually had to leave the field empty-handed. Brothers Union will play their last group match against Bangladesh Police Football Club on January 31.
Earlier, the all-orange Gopibagh outfit Brothers Union suffered a 1-0 defeat to holders Bashundhara Kings in their opening group match and crushed Dhaka Wanderers by 8-0 goals in the second match.
