Kathmandu: The Sagarmatha Sambaad, the international dialogue focused on climate action, sustainability, and global partnerships, themed “Climate Change, Mountains and the Future of Humanity,” has officially commenced today in Kathmandu. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli inaugurated the event during a special function, marking the beginning of discussions on pressing global environmental issues.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the event has gathered more than 350 national and international distinguished personalities, highlighting its significance on a global scale. The opening ceremony witnessed Foreign Affairs Minister and Coordinator of the Sambaad Management Committee, Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, extending a warm welcome to the attending guests.
At present, the distinguished guests are actively participating in addressing the event, sharing insights and perspectives on the challenges and opportunities surrounding climate change and sustainability. Following the inaugural session, there will be a series of parallel thematic sessions designed to delve deeper into specific areas of concern and collaboration.
