Kapilvastu: Two women lost their lives after being struck by a speeding car at Basantapur in Buddhabhumi Municipality-1, Kapilvastu. The incident occurred along the Gorusinghe-Arghakhanchi road section while the women were out for a walk, as reported by Police Inspector Birat Sharma Paudel from the Area Police Office in Gorusinghe.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the victims have been identified as Shanta Khatri, aged 60, and Til Kumari Rayamajhi, aged 65. Both were critically injured in the accident and succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital.
The driver of the car, Khimraj Shrestha, aged 32, from Sainamaina Municipality-5 in the Rupandehi district, has been taken into custody by the police.
