Kathmandu: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has presented a proposal in the House of Representatives (HoR) seeking a general discussion on the Annual Estimates of Revenue and Expenditures for the upcoming fiscal year 2025-26. The proposal was brought forth during today’s meeting of the HoR, where Minister Paudel announced the removal of taxes to promote the production of organic and farm manure and to encourage digital payments. He emphasized that the implementation of the budget is expected to increase economic activities.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the presentation of the proposal was met with interruptions as MP Rajendra Pandey called for the resolution of issues arising from the minister’s statements being inaudible due to the chanting of slogans by MPs. Pandey demanded that the matter be sorted out before proceeding with the House’s agenda.
The session of the House of Representatives continued amidst the vocal protests from members of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). Despite the disruptions, general discussions on the annual estimates of revenue and expenditure are ongoing.
