Committee Report on Federal Civil Service Bill Presented in House of Representatives

Kathmandu: Chairman of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee, Ramhari Khatiwada, has presented the report prepared by his Committee on the ‘federal civil service bill, 2082’ during the House of Representatives meeting today. The presentation marks a significant step in the legislative process concerning the federal civil service.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the bill, along with the report, was finalized by a subcommittee coordinated by lawmaker Dilendra Prasad Badu after extensive discussions. The State Affairs and Good Governance Committee unanimously endorsed the bill, which includes a controversial provision of a two-year cooling-off period. This provision has raised considerable concern among senior bureaucrats.

The House of Representatives is scheduled to reconvene at 11:00 am on Monday, where further deliberations on the bill are expected to take place.
