Dhangadhi: Different areas of Dhangadhi, including Dhangadhi bazaar, have been severely waterlogged following continuous rainfall since last night. The waterlogging has affected several localities such as Bishalnagar, Milanchowk, Shivanagar, Hasanpur, Campus road, Malikatol, Krishnanagar, and other surrounding areas.
According to National News Agency Nepal, most shops in these areas have been inundated, causing significant disruption to local businesses and daily life. Residents are facing difficulties in their movement, with many expressing frustration over the annual inundation of their settlements. Locals attribute the recurring problem to the encroachment of rivulets in the area.
Shiva Raj Joshi, a local leader, highlighted that the waterlogging is exacerbated by road blacktopping projects that proceed without adequate sewerage management. Despite the extensive waterlogging, the District Police Office in Kailali has confirmed that there have been no reports of human casualties.
