Dhulikhel: Traffic operation has been restricted in the Kavrepalanchowk section along the BP Highway for 12 hours during the night starting from July 17. The Security Committee meeting held at the District Administration Office in Dhulikhel has decided to ban vehicular operation from Kavrebhanjyang to the Sindhuli border at Nepalthok for a month.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the restriction is in response to the potential for disastrous incidents as the monsoon season becomes active. The vehicular ban in the specified areas will be in effect from 5:00 pm to 5:00 am to minimize risks.
Previously, the District Security Committees of Kavrepalanchowk, Ramechhap, and Sindhuli, along with the Inter-District Coordination Committee, had initially banned vehicle operations on the BP Highway from 6:30 pm to 6:00 am, continuing this restriction up to July 16.
Chief District Officer of Kavrepalanchowk, Umesh Dahakal, stated that vehicles traveling from Kathmandu will be stopped in Kavrebhanjyang of Kavrepalanchowk, while those en route to Kathmandu will be halted in Nepalthok along the Sindhuli border, as a precaution against the risks of floods and landslides.
