Kathmandu: The influence of monsoon winds is currently pervasive across Nepal, impacting weather conditions significantly. The Weather Forecasting Division reports that the low-pressure line of the monsoon is situated around the average position, contributing to varying weather patterns across different regions.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the hilly regions of the country are experiencing partial to generally cloudy conditions, while other areas remain partly cloudy. The Division has noted occurrences of light to moderate rainfall in one or two places within the Koshi, Bagmati, and Karnali provinces.
Throughout the afternoon, the entire country is expected to experience partial to generally cloudy weather. Light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is likely in some hilly areas of the Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in a few other regions. Additionally, the high hilly and mountainous areas may see light to moderate rain or snow.
Official
forecasts suggest that tonight’s weather will also be partial to generally cloudy nationwide. Many places in the Koshi Province, some in the Madhesh Province, and a few in the Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, along with scattered regions across the country, are likely to experience light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning. The higher altitudes may also witness light to moderate rain and snowfall.
Given the potential for rainfall, there are risks of soil erosion, floods, landslides, and riverbank overflows, potentially leading to urban and lowland inundation. The Division has urged the public and concerned authorities to take necessary safety precautions.
