Solar Power Supplied to World’s Highest Altitude Lake

Tilicho lake: Power supply in Tilicho Lake, the lake at the world’s highest altitude, has been managed through solar energy. The initiative has enabled electricity provision at an impressive altitude of 4,949 meters above sea level through the use of solar energy.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has facilitated this power supply by installing solar panels with a capacity of 390 watts. Raju Mahato, Chief of Manang Distribution Centre of NEA, stated that the area around Tilicho Lake is now electrified thanks to the installation of these solar sheets.

This development is significant for the famous tourist site, which now has access to power for various facilities, including mobile phone charging. Although power from the national grid reaches the base camp of the lake at 4,250 meters above sea level, it takes approximately three hours to travel from the base camp to the lake itself.
