Kathmandu: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has stated that the role of honorary consulate generals is crucial in promoting economic diplomacy in a dynamic and result-oriented manner. The Minister highlighted this importance while inaugurating a program organized to mark the 18th general assembly and establishment day of the organization composed of Nepali business persons who serve as honorary consulate generals from 66 countries worldwide.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Foreign Minister Dr. Rana Deuba urged the honorary consulate generals to support the government’s efforts to leverage economic diplomacy for the country’s benefit. She emphasized the government’s success in raising global awareness about climate change and environmental issues through the ‘Sagarmatha Sambaad’ initiative. Dr. Rana encouraged intellectuals to foster positive thinking to inspire the younger generation to contribute to the nation’s development.
In addition, Chandra Prasad Dhakal, Dean of the organization of Nepal-based Honorary Consulate Generals and Chairperson of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), mentioned that they have been working closely with the government. Their collaboration spans various sectors, including trade and commerce, education, culture, tourism, and information technology.
