Prime Minister Faces Parliament Q&A as Key Bills and Discussions Unfold


Kathmandu: The House of Representatives convenes today at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor with a significant agenda that includes a question and answer session with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. The session will see the Prime Minister addressing inquiries posed by Members of Parliament, offering an opportunity for direct dialogue on pressing issues.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Speaker Devraj Ghimire will also present a proposal for consideration regarding the ‘Ship (Operation and Management) Bill, 2081,’ which originated in the National Assembly. This bill is expected to undergo detailed discussions in the coming sessions.

In addition, the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Damodar Bhandari, is set to propose a general discussion on the WTO Agreement concerning Concessions in the Fisheries Industry. This topic is anticipated to spark considerable debate given its implications for the national economy.

The schedule also includes meetings of three parliamentary commit
tees. The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will address complaints related to the construction of the Jagadulla Hydropower Project. Meanwhile, the Legislative Management Committee will engage in a clause-wise discussion on the ‘Water Resources Bill, 2081.’

Finally, the Federalism Strengthening and National Concerns Committee will evaluate the progress status of projects of national pride under the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, highlighting the government’s focus on infrastructure development.
