Gosainkunda: A health camp has been conducted in Gosainkunda, a popular pilgrimage site. On the occasion of the Janai Purnima festival, the Himalayan Rescue Association has set up the health camp at the sacred site to provide primary healthcare services to the devotees visiting the area.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Association’s Executive Director Govinda Basyal stated that the camp is being operated on the shores of Gosainkunda by a team of specialist doctors equipped with oxygen. So far, at least 110 people have received primary treatment at the camp. The team of health professionals, led by Dr. Padam Joshi, includes six specialist doctors and a health technician.
Located at an altitude of 4,380 meters above sea level, Gosainkunda has seen patients suffering from breathing complications, who are being treated with oxygen therapy, as informed by Director Basyal. The organization has been providing medical services to pilgrims at Gosainkunda for over 25 years and has started the camp on Tuesday for this season.
The Gosainkunda Area Development Committee has noted that the Association is assisting pilgrims through this healthcare service. Team leader Dr. Joshi urged travelers not to worry about sickness, assuring that the Association has all necessary equipment and oxygen available, and encouraged them to utilize the free health camp being operated at Gosainkunda.
