UML’s Statute Convention Begins in Godawari


Lalitpur: The second statute convention of the ruling CPN (UML) is beginning today at Godawari in Lalitpur district. Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to inaugurate the event.



According to National News Agency Nepal, UML’s publicity department chief, Rajendra Gautam, stated that Chairman Oli will present the party’s political report under the theme ‘A Decisive National Power is Our Resolution: Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali is Our Destination’. Vice Chairman Bishnu Prasad Paudel will present the statute amendment proposal report, while General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel will present the organizational report.



Reports from the party’s central election commission, central disciplinary commission, account commission, and central advisory council will also be presented at the conclave. These reports will be discussed in separate groups.



Additionally, a note of dissent registered by party Standing Committee Member Karna Thapa at the party’s Central Secretariat on Thursday will be presented. Chairman Oli’s report includes an analysis of national and international development, major challenges, and the party’s political course and responsibilities.



The slogan for the conclave is ‘Decisive national power is our resolution: Prosperous Nepal, happy Nepali is our destination’. The convention will see the participation of 2,026 representatives and 315 organizing committee members. The first statute convention of the UML was held in 2078 BS.
