Kathmandu: Minister for Health and Population, Dr. Sudha Sharma, has emphasized the necessity of increasing investment in women’s education to enhance health awareness. Addressing a programme organized by the Kanya Mandir Secondary School, Minister Sharma highlighted the critical role of women’s education in eradicating backwardness within families, society, and the nation. She praised Kanya Mandir for its significant contribution to women’s literacy and empowerment, noting that the school has produced thousands of students who have excelled in various fields such as medicine, administration, industry, engineering, and teaching.
According to National News Agency Nepal, during the event, Minister Sharma provided financial assistance amounting to Rs 500,000 to some of the top-performing students of Grade 11 and 12 at the school. The financial aid aims to support and encourage the academic pursuits of these promising students.
Nawin Manandhar, Chairman of the Management Committee and Spokesperson at Kathmandu Metropolitan City, remarked on the esteemed reputation of Kanya Mandir, acknowledging its success in producing excellent students. He attributed the high morale of the teachers to the effective management of the school.
Principal Ghanashyam Neupane further elaborated that the school is one of the most popular educational institutions in the Kathmandu Valley. He credited the collective efforts of the management committee, teachers, students, and staff for this achievement. Currently, the school educates 1,200 girl students at its Chhetrapati location in Kathmandu-17.
