Kathmandu: Among 127 people from Madhes Province who had gone out of contact since the Bhotekoshi flash flood on Wednesday morning, 15 came in contact with their families on Friday. According to National News Agency Nepal, these individuals were able to reach out to their families by telephone.
According to Prabhu Prasad Dhakal, spokesperson and Senior Superintendent of Police of Madhes Province Police Office, as of now, 32 people from Saptari, 28 from Parsa, 15 from Rautahat, 19 from Bara, 10 from Sarlahi, 10 from Mahottari, five from Dhanusha, and eight from Siraha are still out of contact. These individuals had traveled to Rasuwa for jobs and business purposes.
As of Friday afternoon, several individuals managed to call their families. Gyan Bahadur Thing, originally from Sindhuli and residing in Birgunj Metropolitan City, Parsa, along with Mobida Khatun, Sakina Khatun, and Salman Ansari of Gadhimai Municipality-7, Rautahat, and Sheikh Majid of Ishanath Municipality-4, Rautahat, reconnected with their families. Pabitra Nepal Silwal and Samrat Silwal of Chandrapur Municipality, Rautahat also made contact.
Additionally, Brij Kishore Das, Sunita Das, and Shyamlal Moktan of Lalbandi Municipality-1, Sarlahi, Rakesh Kumar Yadav of Jaleshwor Municipality-1, Mahottari, and Laxman Mehta of Sabaila Municipality, Dhanusha, along with Dayawati Devi Yadav, Vijay Kumar Yadav, and Suresh Pajiyar of Hongspur Municipality, Dhanusa, were able to inform their families of their whereabouts.
