Bhaktapur: Activities for the road expansion drive on the Sanga-Dhulikhel road section along the Araniko Highway have been expedited lately. Last week, the project was given one more year for completion.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Lama Construction Pvt Ltd secured the contract for Rs 4.5 billion to construct the eight-kilometre stretch from Sanga in Bhaktapur district to Dhulikhel in Kavre. The company initially committed to completing the project by the second week of December 2025. However, only 60 percent of the construction work was accomplished within the original deadline, as noted by Rabindra Shrestha, the Construction Manager of the Suryabinayak-Dhulikhel Road Project.
Currently, the project focuses on the blacktop of the road in the Dhulikhel and Pulbazaar-Janagal areas. Significant progress has been made in lane cutting and laying gravel in the service lane in the Basghari-Budol section. Additionally, preparations are underway to install a culvert at Chandani Chowk in Banepa, according to project officials.
