Butwal: The Butwal-Narayangadh road section is completely blocked as a result of flooding in the river along the alternative route in the Dumkibas area of Nawalpur (Bardghat Susta East).
According to National News Agency Nepal, the flooding has led to a complete halt of traffic on the diversion used by cargo vehicles, as well as on the alternative road for smaller and passenger vehicles at Binayi Khola located in Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality-1. Superintendent of Police Yadav Dhakal from the District Police Office Nawalparasi (Bardghat Susta East) confirmed the situation, stating that the traffic has been stopped at the diversion and along the alternative route via Hongsi Gate and Jyamire, with vehicles parked at a safe location.
Superintendent Dhakal explained that the water level in the Kharange rivulet in Binayi Triveni-3 has risen due to ongoing rain, which has completely blocked the alternative route. The situation in the Daunne Dumkibas section of the road has become critical, with no vehicles able to pass through.
The continuous rainfall has also caused the temporary diversion constructed over the Binayi rivulet under the East-West Highway to be frequently washed away due to the increased water flow.
