Butwal: The Butwal-Narayangadh road section remains obstructed for traffic since Monday morning. The road was obstructed after a landslide occurred in the Daunne hills along the East-West Highway.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the highway was obstructed after continuous rain triggered landslides, and slippery conditions in the Daunne hills of Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality-2 of Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East). Superintendent of Police Yadav Dhakal of the District Police Office Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) confirmed the obstruction.
As a result, hundreds of passengers and vehicles are now stranded on the road since the past 24 hours. This section of road has seen frequent obstruction due to dry landslides as well as rain-induced mudslides since the expansion of the Butwal-Narayangadh road section began some years ago.
