Develop Lumbini as Major Shrine: NA Chair Dahal


Kathmandu: Chairman of the National Assembly, Narayan Prasad Dahal, has emphasized the need for collective efforts to transform Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, into a significant shrine. He delivered this message of best wishes on the occasion of the 2569th Buddha Jayanti, highlighting the potential of Lumbini to attract a large number of tourists once it is developed as a top shrine. He stressed that governmental efforts must be intensified to achieve this goal.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Chairman Dahal reiterated the importance of Lord Buddha’s teachings, which focus on peace, non-violence, good deeds, and human welfare. He emphasized the necessity of establishing Lumbini as the world center of Buddhist faith. Dahal pointed out that adherence to Buddha’s principles would aid in maintaining peace and non-violence globally.



Additionally, the Chairman extended his greetings for the Ubhauli festival, which is being celebrated by the Kirat community on the same day, underscoring the cultural significance of the occasion.
