Kathmandu: The Election Commission has intensified its preparations for the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) elections, scheduled to occur in 47 days, by arranging the supply of election materials to mountainous districts. The Commission has identified 13 transportation companies to handle the logistics of delivering ballot papers and other essential materials to these challenging terrains.
According to National News Agency Nepal, two firms have been entrusted with courier services to ensure the smooth transportation of necessary election materials. The selected firms, Sajha Courier and Cargo and Trans Air International Logistics Pvt. Ltd., will be responsible for the timely and secure delivery of these materials. In addition to courier services, 11 firms have been designated to provide truck and container services.
Despite efforts to include helicopter services, no companies have registered to offer this mode of transportation. The Election Commission evaluated applications based on criteria such as the specified criteria and annual average turnover, after issuing a public notice on January 1. The listed firms will be deployed to facilitate the efficient supply of election materials as part of the Commission’s logistics plan.
