Environment Ministers of Nepal and India Discuss Collaborative Efforts on Climate Change


Kathmandu: Minister for Forests and Environment, Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri, and Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change of India, Bhupender Yadav, held a significant meeting at the Sagarmatha Sambaad venue. The meeting was part of Minister Yadav’s visit to participate in the Sagarmatha Sambaad, which commenced on Thursday.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the discussions were centered around strengthening cooperation between Nepal and India in the environmental and forestry sectors. Minister Shahi emphasized Nepal’s commitment to enhancing collaboration with India, highlighting the importance of shared responsibility, regional unity, and mutual respect in tackling environmental challenges.



The two ministers addressed critical issues such as climate change, disaster management, and air pollution. Forest Secretary Dr. Rajendra Prasad Mishra noted that both sides expressed a keen interest in partnering to find solutions to these pressing problems, underscoring the significance of regional cooperation in addressing environmental concerns.
