Farmers Elated as They Receive Agriculture Tools at Subsidized Rate


Kathmandu: The Kohalpur Municipality in Banke district has distributed mini-tillers and pump sets to the farmers at a subsidized rate. Agricultural Technician Yagya Bahadur Rokaya of the municipality said that the farmers were provided with 19 sets of mini-tillers and 80 sets of water pump sets at the subsidized rate. The municipality had allocated budget for the titles in the annual budget of the fiscal year 2081/82 BS.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the agriculture tools were provided to a certain number of farmers, agricultural farms, farmers’ groups, and some agriculture cooperatives, while the water pump sets were distributed under the Small Irrigation Promotion Programme.



The municipality stated that the farmers were supported to modernize agriculture and the support programme was need-based and demand-driven. The beneficiaries have expressed their pleasure after receiving the agriculture tools.
