Kathmandu: National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairperson Bimala Ghimire departed for China on Monday, at the helm of an eight-member parliamentary delegation. Her visit is part of a six-day official trip where she will engage in various significant events in Xian, Shaanxi, China.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Ghimire’s itinerary includes participation in the Poverty Alleviation and Sustainable Development Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the Ninth Silk Road International Expo. Both events are pivotal in addressing key issues related to sustainable growth and development, areas where Nepal has shown keen interest.
Vice Chairperson Ghimire is also scheduled to deliver addresses at both events, highlighting Nepal’s perspective and contributions to these international discussions. The delegation accompanying her includes Members of the House of Representatives Dinesh Kumar Yadav and Urmila Majhi, as well as National Assembly Members Beduram Bhusal and Sumitra BC. Additionally, officials from the Federal Parliament are part of the team.
The visit is set to conclude with the delegation’s return to Nepal on May 24, offering an opportunity for further strengthening Nepal-China parliamentary relations and exploring avenues for collaboration in sustainable development.
