Kathmandu: Chairperson of the Nepal Socialist Party and former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has stated that the photo exhibition organized by RSS would contribute to making Nepal prominent on the global stage. After attending the photo exhibition held under the theme ‘Mountain Tourism: Our Pride, Our Identity’ on the occasion of the 18th Republic Day, Dr Bhattarai remarked that the efforts of RSS journalists in reaching remote high-mountain areas to capture images of the world’s highest mountain ranges would help raise the country’s profile internationally.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the photo expo is expected to inspire Nepalis to explore their own country and visit these scenic locations. Dr Bhattarai noted the global discourse on environmental degradation and mentioned that the government’s recent Sagarmatha Sambaad initiative, along with the photo exhibition, would further this conversation.
Executive Chairperson of the RSS, Dharmendra Jha, expressed his belief that the RSS photo expo would highlight the significance and beauty of Nepal’s mountains. He emphasized the necessity of policy and structural reforms to attract more foreign tourists by promoting mountains and tourism destinations.
Similarly, CPN (UML) leader and House of Representatives member Surya Thapa indicated that the photo exhibition would provide an opportunity for young people to learn about their country. Surya Thapa commented that the timing of the photo expo is relevant and noted that Nepal’s mountains are valuable assets on a global scale. He highlighted that the expo features images related to infrastructure development, tourism promotion, and other important areas.
Additionally, Ammar Bahadur Thapa, President of the House of Representatives’ Education, Health and Information Technology Committee, also visited the photo exhibition and commended RSS for its efforts in promoting tourism through this medium.
