Govt’s Pledge to Uphold Democracy: PM Oli


Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has emphasized the government’s commitment to safeguarding democracy, a system achieved through struggles for human rights, peace, and social justice. During the inauguration of the international conference of the Progressive Legal Practitioners, PM Oli highlighted the significant role of the current leadership in establishing democracy and safeguarding human rights, dismissing any doubts about its dedication.



According to National News Agency Nepal, PM Oli asserted that the government operates in alignment with the UN Charter, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), international human rights instruments, and a balanced foreign policy. He emphasized that Nepal maintains friendly relations with all nations, devoid of any enmity.



PM Oli reiterated the Nepal government’s dedication to peace and democracy, focusing on addressing everyday challenges faced by the populace. He acknowledged that the complete realization of human rights is unattainable without eradicating poverty, and stressed the importance of improving the living standards of marginalized communities, alongside ensuring justice and equity.



In conclusion, PM Oli assured that the government would consider the genuine suggestions arising from the conference, highlighting its openness to constructive feedback.
