Kathmandu: The Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Devraj Ghimire, announced that the House meeting will resume at 2:00 pm today. This decision comes after the Speaker attended a photo exhibition titled ‘Mountain Tourism: Our Pride, Our Identity,’ organized by Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) to mark the 18th Republic Day.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Speaker Ghimire stated that while the House does not need to be obstructed, disruptions have occurred. Traditionally, meetings were scheduled for 11:00 am and 1:00 pm, but today’s session will begin at 2:00 pm. He expressed hope that the Parliament would commence at this time.
The Speaker highlighted that the House meeting was interrupted just as important budget discussions were to take place. He emphasized the need to limit the number of MPs participating in the discussions and to follow procedural guidelines. Speaker Ghimire acknowledged the damage caused by the obstruction and stressed the importance of setting the agenda to conclude the budget discussions within the established timeline.
