Kathmandu: A visiting delegation from the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC) paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at his official residence in Baluwatar today. During the meeting, discussions focused on advancing peace and prosperity through parliamentary diplomacy and cooperation, as stated by the PM’s Secretariat.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Prime Minister Oli expressed the Government of Nepal’s eagerness to collaborate with the ISC in international forums to achieve common goals. Malaysian Senator Datuk Wira Dr Mohd Hatta Bin Md Ramli emphasized Malaysia’s strong relations with Nepal and expressed a desire to strengthen these ties through parliamentary cooperation. ISC adviser Masaichi Hori invited Nepal to actively participate in ISC activities on a global scale.
The delegation included three Malaysian lawmakers: Senator Datuk Wira Dr Mohd Hatta Bin Md Ramli, MP Rodciah Binti Ismail, and MP Datuk Larry Sng Wei Shien, along with ISC adviser Masaichi Hori from Japan, and other international delegates. Lawmaker Ek Nath Dhakal, recently appointed as Secretary General of ISC, CPN (UML) lawmaker Sunita Baral, and PM Oli’s chief political adviser Bishnu Rimal also participated in the meeting.
The ISC delegation is engaged in several parliamentary exchange programs in Kathmandu. The Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC) is a multilateral, inter-parliamentary body dedicated to fostering peace and shared prosperity through parliamentary diplomacy and cooperation.
