Jhala Nath Khanal Calls for Addressing Ideological Struggle Within CPN (Unified Socialist)

Kathmandu: Senior leader of the CPN (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal has emphasized the necessity of addressing the ideological struggle within the party. At a press conference held on Saturday, he expressed concerns that the party leadership has yet to implement the ideological policies and socialist programs ratified by the party’s general convention.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Khanal underscored the importance of initiating discussions from the secretariat to the standing committee to tackle the challenges confronting the party. He proposed that the ideological struggle should be resolved through discussions and that solutions should be sought during the party’s meetings.

Reflecting on his five-decade collaboration with party chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal, Khanal mentioned that the chairman had asked him to leave the party. He clarified that the disagreement with Chairperson Nepal is not personal but rooted in the need for ideological and theoretical clarity, especially following the four-year split from the CPN (UML).
