Koshi Province: Koshi Province Chief Parshuram Khapung presented the annual policy and program of the province for the fiscal year 2082/83 at the Koshi Province Assembly today.
According to National News Agency RSS, the policy aims to create a ‘clean, happy and prosperous province’ while institutionalizing the achievements of the provincial government and fostering trust among citizens in line with federalism.
The policy outlines strengthening the federal democratic republican governance system by prioritizing the provincial structure and expanding internal revenue. It also focuses on policy and institutional reforms for sustainable resource management and financial governance.
Key areas of focus include institutionalizing gains from the Provincial Investment Summit, encouraging public-private partnerships, and using Koshi Tourism Year 2082 as a foundation for tourism development. The province aims to enhance capital creation through policy, structural, and tourism infrastructure development.
The policy also addresses social issues with campaigns against drug abuse and human trafficking, and the Chief Minister’s Essential Service Center will be revamped into the ‘Koshi Essential Service Center’. Environment-friendly vehicle policies and entrepreneurship programs for small and medium enterprises will be introduced.
Further emphasis is placed on developing regions of religious, cultural, archaeological, and historical significance and improving school infrastructure in mountainous and hilly regions. The initiative includes a 110-point plan for a farmer-centric approach, focusing on local production and consumer rights to foster a competitive environment.
Deliberations on the proposed policy and program will commence at the provincial assembly meeting scheduled for 1:00 pm on Tuesday.
