Bhaktapur: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has announced that the upcoming elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) will occur nationwide in a single phase on March 5, ensuring a peaceful process. “Get assured. The election is coming near. The election will be held in a single phase and in a single day. The election will be on the slated date,” she stated. Following an inspection visit to the Janak Education Materials Centre Limited at Sanothimi in Bhaktapur, where the ballot papers are being printed, the PM assured journalists that there would not be a second phase of elections in any districts.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Prime Minister Karki was accompanied by Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal during the inspection of the Janak Education Materials Centre Limited. The PM expressed her satisfaction with the ongoing progress in ballot paper printing and commended the officials of the printing facilities. She emphasized that the nationwide election anticipation has increased and highlighted the Election Commission’s (EC) role in this initiative. Additionally, she expressed optimism that the weather conditions on March 5 would be generally fair, allowing voters to exercise their right to vote, leading to the formation of a new government after the announcement of the final results.
Similarly, Minister Aryal stated that a conducive environment for elections has been created across the country, with a gradual reduction in political violence and conflicts. He reaffirmed that the polls would be held on the scheduled date of March 5, emphasizing the government’s full commitment to ensuring citizens’ safety and security. Minister Aryal also mentioned that additional security measures have been arranged to conduct the elections in a free, fair, and fearless manner.
