Monsoon Landslides Severely Disrupt Major Traffic Routes Across Nepal


Kathmandu: Six major traffic routes in various parts of Nepal are fully obstructed due to floods and landslides triggered by incessant rains.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the Nepal Police Headquarters reported that the Koshi Highway in Sankhuwasabha is among the roads blocked by the natural disasters. Similarly, the Mechi Highway in Panchthar and the Tamor-Corridor road section are also affected.



The Kaligandaki Corridor in Nawalparasi East, the Shahid Highway in Rolpa, and the Jajarkot-Dolpa Bheri Corridor in Rukum West are additional routes obstructed by landslides.



In addition to the fully obstructed routes, several other roads are partially blocked but operational for one-way traffic. These include the Tokha-Nuwakot route, the Kaligandaki Corridor in Baglung, the Mid Hill Highway in Galkot of Baglung, and sections of the Kaligandaki Corridor and Shahid Highway in Nawalparasi East and Rolpa, respectively.
