Monsoon System Spreads Across Nepal from Today

Kathmandu: This year’s monsoon system has spread across Nepal from today.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the monsoon had initially entered the eastern part of the country on May 29, covering most areas of Koshi Province.

Subsequently, the monsoon system expanded to parts of Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, along with some eastern regions of Lumbini Province by June 12. Meteorologist Pratima Manandhar confirmed that with the monsoon system now active in Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, it has fully spread across the country.

Manandhar noted that some parts of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki Provinces, as well as the eastern part of Lumbini Province, are experiencing the influence of monsoon winds. Additionally, there is a partial influence of westerly and local winds in the western part of the country, along with a low-pressure area formed around West Bengal, India.
