MPs Advocate for Integration with Development Activities in Appropriation Bill Discussion


Kathmandu: Participating in today’s discussion in the National Assembly on the principles and priorities of the appropriation bill for the upcoming fiscal year 2082/083, MPs emphasized the need for people’s representatives to be linked to development activities.



According to National News Agency Nepal, MP Bishnu Kumari Sapkota highlighted the importance of addressing food production and productivity, advancing research for manufacturing, and legalizing marijuana cultivation in the forthcoming budget. MP Bishnu Bahadur Bishwakarma stressed the necessity to implement projects of national pride, while Shree Krishna Prasad Adhikari criticized the lack of socialist-oriented economic principles and priorities in the Appropriation Bill.



MP Nara Bahadur Bista expressed dissatisfaction that the principles and priorities of the Appropriation Bill have not met the expectations of the people. Meanwhile, Sumitra BC acknowledged the positive inclusion of security issues and expressed her support for the bill’s principles and priorities.



On the occasion, NC Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal informed the MPs that the meeting of the Upper House will continue on Wednesday.
