Narayangadh: The physical progress of the Narayangadh-Butwal road construction project has reached only 69 percent, even as the deadline extended for the third time is about to expire. The work on the expansion of the road is being carried out by China State Construction Corporation Pvt. Ltd., and the deadline is set to end on July 24.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Information Officer of the Project, Shiva Khanal, stated that the process of extending the deadline for the fourth time has begun, which will be extended for one more year. Meanwhile, the new bridge over the Binayi River in Dumkibas is expected to be operational in two to three days. The operational bridge will provide relief to drivers and passengers who have been affected by the diversion that was washed away multiple times due to frequent floods caused by rain.
Project Information Officer Khanal remarked that the upcoming work will focus on easing transportation in the Daunne section of the Narayangadh-Butwal road section. Currently, only maintenance work is being carried out to ensure the smooth operation of traffic, halting other works including culvert construction.
Passengers have faced difficulties for a long time due to the significant highway expansion project not being completed on schedule.
