Nepal and China to Collaborate on Infrastructure Development at Korala Check Point

Mustang: Chairperson of CPN (Maoist Centre) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has announced that the Chinese government has pledged its support in constructing vital infrastructure at the Korala check point. This includes customs and immigration buildings, as well as an integrated check post.

According to National News Agency Nepal, during a programme organized by the District Administrative Office in Mustang, Chair Dahal stated that the activities will proceed in accordance with the agreement reached during his visit to China. He noted that the delay in construction was due to Nepal’s inability to present a clear outline for the infrastructure development, whereas the Chinese government is prepared to move forward with the construction.

Chair Dahal emphasized the strategic and long-term significance of the Korala road, highlighting its potential as a key driver for the nation’s economic prosperity, extending beyond just the Mustang region. He stressed that completing the Korala road project and accelerating road upgrades would significantly boost economic activities in the country.

Additionally, Chair Dahal mentioned Mustang’s appeal to both domestic and foreign tourists, attributing it to the district’s unique religious, cultural, geographical, and natural features.
