Kathmandu: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel has reiterated Nepal’s steadfast commitment to the one-China policy, emphasizing the longstanding friendly relationship between Nepal and China. Minister Kharel made these remarks while addressing the Fourth China-Nepal Media Summit, underscoring the mutual respect and cooperation that has characterized the bilateral ties.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Kharel expressed gratitude for China’s ongoing support towards Nepal’s development initiatives. He highlighted China’s significant contributions to various sectors, including infrastructure development, economic growth, healthcare, tourism, and cultural heritage promotion. “China is Nepal’s friendly neighbour for long. China has made contributions to Nepal’s infrastructure development, economic development, health care, tourism, culture and development and promotion of cultural heritages,” Minister Kharel stated, acknowledging the pivotal role of Chinese assistance.
The summit, organized by the South Asia Television Network and the Nepal China Media Forum, provided a platform for dialogue on collaboration and cooperation between the media sectors of Nepal and China. The discussions focused on enhancing media partnerships and fostering a better understanding between the two countries through media exchanges and joint ventures.
