Kathmandu: The Nepali Army (NA) has reiterated its unwavering commitment to the nation’s constitution, emphasizing its respect for the decisions made by the President and the Executive in efforts to stabilize the country following the Gen Z movement.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the NA highlighted its role as a major State institution responsible for facilitating dialogue among stakeholders to manage the crisis effectively. The NA clarified that despite facing questions regarding its coordination and dialogues during this critical period, it did not entertain any political agenda or ambitions of power interference. “The present situation clearly shows that NA is committed to the democratic system,” the NA stated in an explanatory article.
The article further emphasized that the NA remains dedicated to the enforcement of the Constitution’s letter and spirit. It reassured that the NA operates under the government’s directives for national unity and security, without any political aspirations. The NA also acknowledged its role in ending the political vacuum created by the Gen Z movement, underscoring its commitment to constitutional principles.
The security agency posed a rhetorical question, wondering if the current situation would have been possible if the NA had political ambitions. It urged for objective analyses instead of superficial remarks, highlighting that such analyses would strengthen all security agencies, including the NA, ultimately benefiting the entire nation.
