Kathmandu: Spokesperson of the Nepali Congress, Devraj Chalise, has emphasized the importance of voting for a political party committed to the country’s future. During a press conference at the party’s central office in Sanepa, Chalise expressed concerns about the misuse of children by some political parties in their electoral campaigns. He also highlighted the issue of spreading hatred towards opposing candidates, particularly in light of the upcoming House of Representatives election.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Chalise stated that the entire party is focused on the election and confirmed that there would be no electoral alliances with any other political parties this time. The Nepali Congress is organizing dialogues to counteract misleading information about the party, with Chalise arguing that public trust in the Nepali Congress is on the rise. He also pointed to significant activities undertaken by governments led by the Nepali Congress.
Chalise further commented on the recent resignations of some ministers from the current government, who left their posts to become electoral candidates. While acknowledging that this is acceptable from a human rights perspective, Chalise argued that it is a morally questionable practice.
