Kathmandu: A 13-member Nepali team, including seven players, is set to travel to Baku, Azerbaijan to participate in the World Budo Martial Arts Championship.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the championship will be held from July 24 to 28, where seven players, including five male and two female competitors, will represent Nepal.
In the male tournament, Rohit Bhattarai is set to compete in the 70 kg category, Binod Maharjan in the 75 kg, Sudarshan Khatri in the 85 kg, Sagar Bista in the 80 kg, and Ramesh Khadgi in the 65 kg category.
For the female tournament, Puja Khadka will compete in the 42 kg category while Babita Karki will participate in the 55 kg category.
The team received a farewell from Tanklal Ghising, member-secretary of the National Sports Council, who extended his best wishes for their success in the championship.
The Nepali team is scheduled to depart for Azerbaijan on Thursday.
