Nepal’s Yoga Heritage Highlighted by President Paudel

Kathmandu: President Ramchandra Paudel has emphasized Nepal’s historical connection to yoga, asserting that studies, research, and historical and archaeological facts confirm the nation as a land of yoga.

According to National News Agency Nepal, President Paudel extended his best wishes on the occasion of International Yoga Day, underscoring the benefits of yoga, meditation, and sadhana in balancing body, mind, and soul, relieving stress, and instilling positive energy. He advocated for establishing yoga as an integral part of Nepal’s national policy, educational curriculum, and public health sector, to further its development.

President Paudel remarked on yoga’s global message of unity, peace, and health, encouraging its practice as a lifestyle to simplify and enhance human life. He noted that yoga enhances daily work abilities, increases immunity, fosters positive thinking, and develops internal energy and self-motivation. Yoga, he said, connects the mind and body, leading to knowledge, action, consciousness, and stability.

International Yoga Day, celebrated annually on June 21 since its inception in 2015 following a United Nations General Assembly resolution in December 2014, carries the theme this year of ‘Yoga for one earth and one health’.
