Kathmandu: Nepal lost to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the fifth triangular One-Day International (ODI) series match under the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 held in Dubai on Thursday. Nepal faced a defeat by five wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Nepal, after winning the toss, chose to bat first and set a target of 234 runs for the UAE. The UAE successfully chased down the target in 43.3 overs, losing five wickets in the process. Aryans Sharma played a pivotal role for the UAE, scoring 98 runs, including 10 fours and three sixes.
On the bowling front for Nepal, Sandeep Lamichhane managed to take two wickets, while Karan KC and Dipendra Singh Airee each secured one wicket. The defeat marks Nepal’s second consecutive loss in the ongoing ODI series, having previously lost to the USA by 106 runs.
