PM Holds Consultation for Stadium at Suryabinayak


Suryabinayak: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Sunday held discussions with the leadership of Suryabinayak municipality, the National Sports Council (NSC), and the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) regarding a plan to construct a stadium at Suryabinayak, Bhaktapur. The meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar, focused on managing land for the proposed stadium. With the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu becoming increasingly insufficient to meet current demands, the government is considering alternative locations spacious for the advanced facility, it has been learnt.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Suryabinayak municipality Mayor Basu Dev Thapa informed the Prime Minister that around 200 ropanis of land at Jagate could be allocated for the stadium. He also assured forwarding necessary process towards that end.



The Prime Minister expressed the government’s intent to construct a stadium with a minimum capacity of accommodating 50,000 audiences simultaneously. NSC Member Secretary Tankalal Ghising and ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang were also present at the meeting.
